There's a new edition of The Immediate Experience by Harvard University Press. Apparently it came out last year, and I never knew.
Anyone read it?
This is one of the books which pushed me towards working in film - it's a strange but powerful collection of essays about film, comics, and culture. I say 'strange' because I'm not sure all of them are entirely straightforward - I don't know enough about Warshow to be sure when he's satirising with a straight face. Though perhaps the new edition's intro will help... |
