OK, some may recall that a while back I posted asking for ideas for a book I could pitch to Disinfo. After some soul-searching and talking to various people, including Grant, I don't think that writing a Disinfo "grimoire" would be a good idea, despite the fact that it would sell. What I'm thinking about doing now is an anthology about the "cutting edge"–that is, magicians under 30 writing about a) how and why they got into magick, b) how their lives changed, c) what results they've had, and d) what they think it all means.
I haven't pitched this idea to my boss yet, but I think it will be received well IF I can show that I can pull it off. Which means I would need a list of prospective contributors and even some completed pieces. So lo and behold I turn to Barbelith among other places... So:
If you're a magician under 30, and you're interested in appearing in this book, then cool! I am most grateful to you. If you'd like a slot (and of course this isn't a guarantee of being published or being paid, although if you write good and this project happens, you will hopefully see both), then please send me:
1) Your name and contact info (address, phone, email)
2) How old you were when you started practicing magick and what styles you use / have used.
3) A brief summary of what you would like to write about, covering the topics above but taking it in as personal of a direction as you would like. If you'd like to share personally invented rituals or techniques, that's also very cool.
If this project goes through I think it would be very exciting, and it'd be awesome to work with some of you guys on putting it together.
Please email me your proposal at jason@disinfo.com. I'll let you know that I got it.
Also, please throw me any feedback you might have about this project, I'd love to get a thread going discussing it. |
