Well, I think the Dore Alley thing is happening on Sunday... let me see.

yup (see here), lots of gay male flesh looking at other gay male flesh, and probably lots of shopping opportunities for toys and such.

Check out sfbg.com as well - it's the free weekly paper that is actually worth something.

I've never been to Dore Alley, but it can't be as huge a spectacle as the Folsom Street Fair:

Acres of flesh of all sorts, guides to sort the uniform fetishists from the actual police patroling the party, usually too much sun and heat and sweat as this happens during the last Sunday of September during San Francisco's hottest season... That's Leather Pride. And it's wonderful!

It's also a warm-up for the insanity that is Halloween, while I think that Dore Alley might well be the leather daddies asserting their differences from all the folks celebrating Gay Pride (end of June) by adopting the look but not the practices...

Do visit the Mission district for community art (murals, murals and more murals) and Latin Amertican culinary delights. You being the musical soul you are, there are beautiful record shops in the Bay Area: Amoeba's in SF and Berkeley, Rasputin's. Of course there are concerts all over (any of the free publications will point you to the concerts).

I dunno, last time I was there I told fortunes with tarot cards in exchange for drugs, went to lots of warehouse parties, met the guy who invented hacking and created a huge chalk mural with a bunch of homeless people, while an impromptu firework display took place.

But then, that was 1996.

I was hoping for similarly random experiences this time...
