I ate After Eight ice-cream recently. can you imagine?

After you ate After Eight I ate After Eight also. Or possibly before.

What got me was the huge girders of solid chocolate that went all the way through it, like some thunderous architectural wonder rendered in dairy products. And not as minty as I feared it might be.

I'm always torn between sherbert and something chocolate or coffee based... the sherbert usually wins. Blue Raspberry! Mmm!

Ooh, I've got a craving on today - I haven't had ice-cream on a hot day all summer - I think I'll go to the van outside Piccadilly Circus tube after work ...

Are you a Mister Whippy-style soft ice-cream kinda gal or a hard-scoop vanilla babe, though?

I could just go a nice rum and raisin ice cream right now. Damn you for making me want something I can't have right now!

I like those Twister lollies - you know the ones, with the pink bit inside and the green and yellow spiral round the outside. I know they're really made of water, carob gum and flavourings 'raspberry', 'pineapple' and 'green', but I love them anyway.

Failing that there's always good old G&D's, especially Dime Bar Crunch, but all that chocolate's a bit much on a day like this.

I love ice lollies and I love ice-cream but I hate ice lollies with ice-cream inside. Go figure.

I like boring stuff like lemonade ice lollies and sorbet. Oh, and I had a fruit pastilles lolly the other week which was really nice and turned my mouth peculiar colours.

What I'd *really* like right now is a frozen Quenchy Cup. The chemicals send you off the edge.

Yeah, I'd really like a lemonade ice lolly now. All I've got is room temperature lemonade, which just isn't even close.

I also like Sun Lollies. The grape ones, especially.

I've discovered Valhalla brand ice cream. Product of Norway. Each flavor named after a God or other figure of myth. It is so good. Yes indeed. Beyond any goodness of any other ice cream I have yet experienced. Beyond any other goodness of anything I have yet experienced. Beyond any goodness of any other goodness real or imaginable to the minds of those unaccustomed to the imagining of real or imaginable goodness. Oh, the ice cream. It calls to meeeeee....

Infidels all! The one true claimant of the Ice Cream throne is Ben and Jerry's Chunky Monkey.

KCC> Yes! Twisters reign supreme in the ice cream/ice lolly crossover wars! All hail the mighty Twister! Bask in the light of its sugary godhood! Excelsior! Exclamation mark!

Xoc's close to the mark. The best ice cream **in-the-world** is Ben and Jerry's twisted cookie dough and chocolate fudge brownie combo.

Side note - didn't Maggie Thatcher invent Mr Whippy, or the antifreeze in it, or something?

My inner-five-year-old screams for mini-milk ice lollies, but the trouble with them is, as the name suggests, the mininess of them.

On a grander scale of lolly, Solero is the king of all "aaah... mmmmmm"-ities. The outside tastes like non-alcoholic reef.

And in the actual ice-cream category, Carte D'or fruit and fresh. Its got chewy tasty bits in it. I thought i'd sickened myself of it (i bought a tub of it a while ago, and ate it all in one afternoon. With no spoon) but alas, i had some more today. I consider myself a fine, if not lardy, conneseurre of the ice-creamy world.

MMMMMMMMMMMMMMM!!!! Ice Cream! I'd go for Ben & Jerry's Caramel Chew Chew or Carte D'Or Nocciolata.

You're just jealous that you can't have a Gaytime. A Golden Gaytime. They rock.

Even if they are smaller than they used to be.

Ben and Jerry's Phish food.

Hmmm, actually unheimlich manoeuvre, I'd forgotten about this one's particular flavoursome goodness. It's really good if you've got the munchies; all of the different tastes and textures of the different parts. You may well have convinced me of the error of my former ways.

golden gaytime is ozzie only, isnt it? i remember seeing them there, and loving the name...

i was exceptionally stoned, and i can't remember if i bought one, or if i went with the masters mocha milk.

No, you are all entirely wrong. I work in an Ice-Cream factory, and can officially declare after much intensive testing and dipping spoons in the mix, that Caramel Goo Cluster with sugar topping is better than every ice cream in the whole world put together so there.

What is the name of that ice cream with the puffed toffee chunks which seems to be only available in Oz? Something starting with Y... haven't had any since I was 17 and in Australia with a student tour...

The Return Of Rothkoid

That sounds like a Golden Gaytime to me, actually...

unless you're thinking of Hokey Pokey, the NZ-made stuff with bits of toffee in. It's actual ice-cream, as opposed to ice-cream-on-a-stick.

I have to watch my intake of ice cream because my body turns it into kidney stones. I know, stuoid super power. I was drunk when I chose it.

I live between two great ice cream shops, Captain Dusty's and Treadwell's. So I go to the home made variety. But I always order a 'baby' size as the small ones are about the size of a baby. The baby is kind of a baby's arm or overfed rat, I'm not sure. People in the burbs are enormous.

My favorite here is brownie chocolate fudge which is in essence, a giant fudge-flavored fist shoved into your mouth.

In Cambridge, I used to go to Christina's where I got Nietsche's Chocolate Ascension, which tasted like the fudge brownie thing I mentioned before, only as a fisting as well.

Eating is a very destructive and yet exciting experience for me. I guess I'm always happy to survive.

Oh, right, Hokey-Pokey. Every time someone reminds me of the name, I go "Of course! It's Hokey Pokey, the name I can remember for all of five minutes before I forget and for some reason think it starts with a Y... what ws that name again?"

Nietzsche's Chocolate Ascension is possibly, however, the best name for a dessert I've EVER heard.

Anyone tried any savoury ice-creams? Apparently in Paris, you can get flavours such as pepper or camembert. If I am not too disgusted by the idea, I might try some.

I had durian ice cream in Singapore. That was ... a bit strange. Like eating a very cold, very smelly sock that actually tasted quite nice.
