After having brief discussions with people on Sunday I have decided to place details of my (hopefully) fantabulous party up here for all eyes to behold.
Basically my lovelies Saturday the 26th of July is approaching at lightning speed. People will descend upon boring, little Chorleywood (top left hand corner of the tube map, Metropolitan line, further instructions via PM) dressed in clothes that were popular between the years 1885 and 1985. The sight should be marvellous. Those who fail to adhere to this rather strict code will be made to wear a dunce's hat and stand sullenly in the corner until I see fit to release them. Moreover it will not be a cliched dunce's hat- no, it shall be the straw hat of an old woman left in the pub that I once worked at and any male who puts it on will look particularly ridiculous.
Should someone get the urge to come in the costume of a fictional character they must ensure not only that said character was invented during those years but that the garment adorned said character sometime between 1885 and 1985.
There should be croquet and cakes and anyone who brings a bottle of Pimms may be exempt from the dunce's rule. Times have not yet been arranged and actually are rather open but I suspect 4pm is a rather good starting point. I hasten to add that this is not the type of party that hopes to end anytime within twelve hours and in fact should continue steadily in to the next morning. This is an open invitation event but please be wary, like Phil Mitchell I am rather handy with a baseball bat, particularly when the target is human- sized. Hopefully a skill that may be ignored. So please, come and have fun for, well, as long as you want to. |
