Promethea Interviews

Eroom Nala
07:12 / 30.06.03
I intend to interview people who help to produce Alan Moore/JH Williams III's Promethea.
Future interviews will be posted at
http://eroomnala.bravepages.com/Interviews.html
The first interview with Jeromy Cox can be found here

Arrr, I sees the Great White Whale O' Luncheon Meet swimmin' up over the horizon, so I does... Shiverin' blended codpieces, me hearties, surely this be the mighty processed food o' the Gods which floats to'ard us like a stalkin' hound? See the beast's belly, so white wi' porkish fat, and his leery eye, round and alumin...

Aye, 'tis Moby Spam, fer sher...

Oh, come on. I think it's someone trying to offer their fellow Promethea fans and/or people interested in the production of a comic a website about these things.

Why is it ok to start a thread that doesn't link to your own, relevant work? Or are you just bored, Nick?

Never or Now!

Cheers, Eroom.

The difference between spam and the honest attempts of self promotion by board members is increasingly becoming blurred... I think the rule of thumb should be if people are willing stick around and post on threads about their particular area of interest there should be no problem with them promoting their own sites

eroom nala has contributed to a variiety of promethea related threads which I think raises this thread out of the realms of simple spam-

thoughts?

This ain't spam in the least. It's a very cool website about Promethea stuff, no less valid than the Jess Nevins annotations of LOEG.

The only nit-picking I could possible have is that this might have been better placed under Eroom's already-existing Alan Moore site thread or his Promethea Annotations thread, or the Promethea 26 thread, just to consolidate.

We're The Great Old Ones Now

I don't really have a problem with this announcement, but I do think that starting a thread with no other content than an announcement about a personal or professional project which is found off-site probably qualifies as spam. In this instance it isn't especially annoying spam, but that's not to say it should pass unnoticed. Now, a little more elucidation, even a quote from an interview, an introduction about the thrust of the interviews or even a personal bio, and viola! Acceptable posting.

Ah well...I disagree, Nick. It's comics-related, and this is the comics forum. What else is needed? If someone drew their own comic and posted a link to it online, that would be fine with me too -- in fact, that sort of thing has already been done, several times -- it's called JENNY EVERYWHERE.

I'm inclined to agree with Nick. Barbelith is not a generic comics forum.
while the content is not necessarily spam its format could certainly be better presented to invite debate and such...

".... I imagine if I could get my bodily fluids into the computer.. I'd use them in my artwork.. "
He must have missed the Matt Hollingsworth step by step showing how he got that extra realistic snot texture for Feelys booger in the Filth #1.

I'm always glad when Eroom stops by to spam us, personally. Maybe in the future he should keep it in the one thread about his site, rather than starting new ones, just for tidiness.

Looking forward to reading the interviews, Eroom.

That's what I'm talkin' about, Quaalune (who is still, presumably, One Bad Motherfucker)

ONLY NICE THINGS
18:14 / 30.06.03
I think "sites about Alan Moore" would be a very good title for a thread, and this very interesting site would fit right into it. However, if we treat the Quebec Comics Forum mailshot as spam, then consistency demands that we do likewise to this.

Also, no topic abstract.

Nice one Eroom - looking forward to the interviews.

Sorry about the fuss guys and gals (if there's any gals in the replies so far)
Should I start a new thread about Alan Moore related topics or has someone already done so here?
Anyway just trying to promote Promethea related topics here. Maybe I should have read the rules about posting here more throroughly. J
ust be thankful you're not reading the Alan Moore posts at Yahoo Groups where every other post done in the last few weeks seems to be about pornography sites and has nothing at all to do with Mr. Moore.

Errom, we welcome your links to your Promethea-related topics although in future, it would be better if you also included some comments on or extracts from the material being linked to.

I've just done another interview with Mick Gray.
Just so as not to upset people here I've posted it as a new topic labelled
Alan Moore
