FRIDAY beer and falling over

Hey-ho it's all getting a littl confusing in the other thread, isn't it?

In the interests of narrowing down a place and eliminating too much confusion this thread is for those who want to get together THIS FRIDAY instead of (or as well as) Sunday.

Several venues have come up:

PL - Filthbeer, cheap, central...

Foundry - Nice variety of filthbeer, relatively cheap, relatively central, "hip", possible beer garden

Unnamed Hipster Venue: Sleaze has suggested the ICA. I went to the Vibe bar in Brick Lane last weekend and would love to go back; however it is far and not-so-central and I doubt everyone would love it. However it does have that all-important beer garden.

Thoughts?

Personally, I"m leaning towards the Foundry. But then I would.

Well, remember that Anna has forbidden us to have any sort of stylish fun. I therefore propose that we meet at Walthamstow Dogs, all wearing brown flat caps and overcoats and drink halves mild and bitter all night. And smoke Rothmans.

If this plan is voted down, I’d suggest the Foundry, it’s reasonable central and it might show Ms. Nokey a bit of “swinging” London (barf). And we can always go the Vibe Bar or the Dragon bar afterward. I like the Dragon bar but it’s probably a bit hard to find if you don’t know where it is. Whaddya reckon?

Ariadne - don't worry about feeling out of place. I will be wearing my usual stylish ensemble of the same clothes I had on last time I met all of you, because they are the only one's I own. And you can always hide under my arm.

Sounds good. Plus yes, I think we must be careful not to incure the wrath of Anna by going someplace ubertrendy. And surely she's been to the Foundry so she's not missing something too cool?

That is because it is a building site. And what is all this about a beer garden? I recall a couple of rickety tables set up outside. In the building site. However it does have babies suspended from the ceiling and if we get there early enough we might be able to commandeer that little room, you know the one I mean. I can get there reasonably early, and hover around looking menacing to frighten other people away.

I heard a rumour that our results will be out on Friday, so I might be feeling even more menacing than usual.

There are like a million exits at Old Street tube, I suggest using the one that indicates you're going towards the Holiday Inn Express and walking straight to just past bar 160 and looking left and you'll see the rickety chairs.

delurking, the foundry is dead easy to find...

take exit 2 out of tube. this gets you onto Old street, you'll be at the junctoin of two major roads, don't take the left hand road, walk straight ahead for 5 minutes and you'll be there...

oh and I will probably pop by for a couple and would suit me to get there earlyish so 630 it is...

What a wonderful time I had last night.

Just one thing I would like to raise as a result of last nights frivolity. I was rather disconcerted to find a scar this morning that was not there when I left the house last night. I know everyone was drunk but surely someone could have mentioned that I was fucking bleeding from the head

Well that's the problem with boozy Barb meets. Total exaggeration. I only counted 15 naked samurai warriors but otherwise a very fine night indeed.Great meeting people i hadn't seen for ages and for new. Bit of a problem with the hicups after guzzling Cherrys' chillis but thanks to Ariadne for giving me a hicups cure. I think the Foundry should be the Barb meet of preference from now on.
