Cradle of Fear/Alex Chandon

Has anyone seen this film or any other Alex Chandon films? Apparantly Chandon has some ifamy in the UK for his stuff and directed some music videos for the band Cradle of Filth, which I suppose, is how he got Dani Filth to star in this.

Low budget, classic "short-stories tied with an overarching plot" style horror. Light on the acting, heavy on the fake guts. Something of a rarity now-a-days, a horror film trying to take it's self a little more seriously than the self-aware likes of Scream.

Is there still a place for this? I found myself laughing at the acting and lame plot, but I guess that's part of the appeal because I found myself talking to my friends about and telling them they have to see it because it's so terrible.

Peter Jackson started in a similar place with Bad Taste and Braindead and look at him now.

Peter Jackson sold out maaaan! He should have shot Lord of the Rings the same way as he made Bad Taste over the weekends with his mates.

I keep meaning to buy Cradle of Fear but I have to admit that's only because Emily Booth in it (my future wife). So it's terrible in a good way then, I will have to order it on payday then.

Have you seen Pervirella rakehell is it good?

I haven't seen Pervirella, but I want to now. Cradle of Fear was actually a rental from my local video shop, which is quite strange. It's gotten an Australian release, something his other films has not.

It is terrible, just awful. Some of the effects are so lame they're funny, and the stories are pretty cliched. There's also heaps of swearing, obviously because that's how real people and harboiled cops speak.

Emily Booth gets her kit off, which may be a bad thing if she's to be your wife.
