I just got in from the Nick Cave concert, and according to the shirt on the back of the guy in front of me, they're heading to NYC tomorrow, and were in London two weeks ago...

Highlights: I loved the rockin' versions of Henry Lee and West Country Girl...

...Some yahoo was shouting out 'Rock of Gibraltar' after almost EVERY song, so for encores they did a 'worst of' with Rock of Gibraltar and Deanna. Quoth Nick: "We don't play this song very often, and I've been told it's one of the worst songs I've written... so that's why. But you're persistent, so..." (I also remember years ago, when people were shouting requests, someone nearby yelled "DONT PLAY DEANNA!")

...and Warren Ellis is God, of course...

so how was the London show?

Fucking wicked. I went on the Sunday night, and he rocked a snow leopard's ass. Warren was going nuts, Mick Harvey was (if anything) more uptight than usual, and Nick was just... babe, he was on fire . High points were Tupelo, the Mercy Seat, and the really epic Bad Seeds-stylee reinvention of the Birthday Party's Wild World. "Strophe and antistrophe... strophe and antistrophe... HEY! Antistrophe!" Yes.

(And everyone else on my nightshift was so fucked off with the words "Nick", "Cave", and "Rocked" by the following morning that I'm surprised myself and my fellow Bad Seeds fan colleague weren't tarred and feathered before leaving the office. Especially seeing as how we were both very pissed and therefore were being enthusiastic at twice the normal volume.)

Well Nick is on tour again, he's in the middle of a 3 night run in a 700 seater venue in Dublin.
It's a solo tour but he had the Bad Seeds Drummer and Bass player and Warren Ellis who is a god among men.

Well the show was amazing the opened with It's a wonderful life and ran from there. There was a Johnny Cash tribute, a quite version of the Mercy seat and a Birthday Party song Wild World.
Which was nice.
Oh and Nick has a smart new blade 4 hair cut.
Snazzy.
If he’s tourning you should go. But you knew that.

I think anyone who doesn't realise the importance of seeing Nick by now is beyond saving.
