Stormwatch: Team Achilles

So I was in the local Android's Dungeon today and saw two issues of Stormwatch: Team Achilles on the shelves. The first one (#11) had a very subdued cover, could almost've been an issue of 'Queen & Country' and, get this, interior art by Bill Seinkewicz. Dang. The second issue, (#12) had more manga-y art by what I take to be the book's new/regular team, and some really nice spreads which seemed quite reminiscent of Geoff Darrow at his society-destroying best.

So I wanted to ask, given that this is where the book first got mentioned in my hearing: Is anybody reading this? Are they enjoying it? Is it more acceptable now that Whilce Portacio has left the building? What's the art generally like? Are people still mad that they got to beat up the Midniter?

In short, what's the skinny on SW:TA?

The art is up and down but now that the art time has stabilized, I see that becoming far less of an issue.

Personally, it's one of my favourite comics on the stands right now. Real World politics blown up to "superheroic" levels, great writing, interesting characters and Wright manages to do "hardass" dialogue that avoids the self-parody that Ellis often unintentially reaches.

Wright goes for the minimalist characterization rougte, often relying on subtle art cues and tossaway lines to reveal facets of the characters, and I know that dosn't sit well with some, but it works in my opinion.

Really, I can't rant about SW:TA enough. It and Sleeper are not getting nearly enough attention.
