Being a bit of a lost arse generally, I didn't notice the date until about 1.30 today. Then I went off at 3pm to enjoy the sunshine and promptly forgot again. Being an extraordinarily superstitious person, that was a blessing. I salute magpies for God's sake.
My question is, if you don't know it's Friday the thirteenth, is it still unlucky? Been a bloody good day so far, have to say.
Article in The Guardian says "touching wood" is the UK's No. 1 superstition. Followed by crossing your fingers and then walking under a ladder. I haven't crossed my fingers ever that I recall but I never walk under ladders and I touch wood all the time. Of course, I sleep in the elephant god's bed every night... |
