In the spirit of Flyboy's birthday in April, I've sent this out to people on my e-mail address book and felt I should open it out to the lovely people of the board called barb:
"From the top of this mountian top in southern Nepal I can see it all. The months (or is it years) of meditation I can see that all life is one, that I am he as you are he as you are me and we are all together, to quote the god-form Lennon. I see that everything is linked, from the little man trying to prove he's better than his dad, to you and I. The karmic wheel is for ever turning in it's devine purpose. There is no time. Then my yoga shamanic guru turns to me and says: "Oh for god's sake Steve just accept you are going to be 30 at the end of the month and deal with it! It's going to be a Saturday so get out there and enjoy yourself!"
And who am I to argue.
So to this end I am reaching out to my friends (no matter how long it's been since I've spoken/e-mailed/texted/been in contact with you) to invite you to any number of events on the 28th of June.
All will be based in Birmingham and the loose plan running through the cavernous structure of my mind at the moment is as follows:
1) civilised daytime drinks (venue to be dictated by weather, but presently I'm thinking central based and if possible with beer garden).
2) evening meal (chinese or indian, starting around eightish)
3) club-like shenanigans (in short distance from where the meal is, possibly).
Say yes to one, say yes to all, it's entirely up to you my friends. Those journing to Brum (which includes myself) the usual plan of rooms at a Travel Lodge will be put into effect, anyone else who wishes to take advantage of a short distance to stagger to bed (and haven't already got that chance) please indicate.
So come make a happy man feel very old by attending what will be the Birmingham event of the year (sod the city of culture, who needs them, let's show them or version of culture, yeah rock and roll and scary images).
Replies in the usual manner and I will let you know the plan as soon as I can think of one."
Offer open to all, let me know here or through the e-mail thingy we have access too. |
