We've learned who's a spy, who's dry, and who psychotic, and now I've got another question. At least one person on this board, aside from me, has got to be an international celebrity of some sort. Is it you?

I was a local celebrity, on par with the channel 12 weatherman for a few months once. I still have a mural with me on it in downtown Hamilton, Ontario.... ah, my 15 minutes, gone at such a tender age...

What did you do to merit this moment of glory?

Don't forget the ferrets- someone on this board has to have a ferret (damn you Stoatie, you've infected my brain permanently).

Oh.

I thought we were all here to become famous.
Im vaguely famous. I believe some of my friends have heard of me.

I'm not really sure. A really creepy percentage of strangers say "Yes, I know," when I introduce myself.

Mordant: then you must be here for the girl... and my head.

I was on a talk show once, and had people recognizing me for a few weeks afterward until I cut off all my hair in an attempt to disguise myself and sink back into anonymity, and ponder how I got semi-famous in such a undignified way.

WP: I was a busker, aka 'The violin guy'. Yep. That's it. Small city, and I made it in the paper a few times...

Are you a seer? Could be you.

I was on a poster for adoption.

No, really. With my parents. When the GLC still existed. I was very cute. I'll see if I can find it and scan it some time.

Are you a seer? Could be you.

No, but I did pretty well on the SATs. And I dress pretty snazzy sometimes.

Hey, a looker's as good as a seer in my book.

I'm not famous, but there's a guy that built a big airplane that has the same last name as me...

I hate to admit it, but I am Ian Anderson.

So you can blame me for Aqualung. Sorry.

My family appeared on 1970s BBC quiz programme Ask the Family, with Robert Robinson, although I was too young to be on it.
I was interviewed on Scotland Today once, as an assault victim.

still a long way to go really

I hate to break it to you, Anna de L, but I saw another version of the same story a couple of nights ago, which seemed more plausible. Apparently there are two million pet ferrets in the UK, rather than two million ferret owners. I feel somewhat cheated, having put all that effort into investigating an erroneous statistic.

I'm Long John Silver, btw. Arr.

Oh, and I once won a children's game show called "Treasures of the Mindlord" featuring one of the Time Bandits. And I was on (yawn... everyone's heard this already, but fuck it) the "Lowri" show pretending to be a survivalist who'd been hoarding food for the Apocalypse... (any London 'lithers are welcome to come round and watch the video if- A: I can find it and B: I can be somewhere else at the time. I never realised quite what a twat I'd be on telly.)

I won a walkman off of that Mark Goodier once, on Radio 1 about 10 years ago.

I was on Scotland Today once, chained up in front of Faslane Nuclear Base and singing something. A few of my friends spotted me. I would say that puts me up there with, um, Elijah Woods.

Go me.

When I was 8, maybe 10 years old I appeared in a TV commercial for Carnation Milk. A group of us from drama class went by coach to Teddington Studios (I think) to film it. We had to stand in a semicircle, like a choir IYKWIM, and eat glass bowls full of tinned peach slices with Carnation Milk. Which had curdled under the hot studio lights. Oh, I suffered for my art.

Inverness Courier gingerbop, big time I've been in the Northern Scot a few times but never for anything legal!

I was in the crowd when my school were on Pick a Number but I think that was only shown in Scotland, possibly only Elgin..

I was in the local paper (winchester Echo, ooooooh) last Friday being outraged about something, picture and all, but I didn't see it myself. That's one of my fifteen minutes wasted, damn...
I'm not in Gingerbop's league though

Well Stoatie, I think we should lie about the ferrets because it was a lot more fascinating when there were that many ferret owners.

And also ooh ooh ooh- I was in the child chorus of Puccini's Turandot at the Royal Opera House... when I was a child. I don't think that's much of a claim to fame somehow.

Well, I'm relatively well known amongst people who make medieval armour.
