it has just come to my attention that there is some type of not-so-underground cult known as the Twelve Tribes. i have been hearing alot of different things about them,
rumors say that they are child abusers, and that is what bothers me the most.
according to a three page article in the Boston Herald, of sept 4 2001, the Twelve Tribes has an extreme right-wing "christian" position on most subjects. many of their ideas are spread through publications and web sites.
to paraphrase:
1. martin luther king jr. was filled with and evil sprit,
2. it is your duty to beat your children,
3.homosexuals will die of bad conscience,
4."not telling the truth to someone who doesn't diserve it isn't lying."
5.blacks are intended to serve whites.
and so on and so forth. hard to believe? well it gets better, they even have their own chain of eateries.
i am curious to hear of any questions and comments on this most distrubing issue.
