London, Sat 31st. Beer or something with Barbelith Young Team

Um, yeah. I've finished my exams, whoopee-fucking-doo, but more to the point, have time to travel and things, and I hear that the fine young things Anna de Logardiere and Harmony are also in town, so yeah, I say: anybody want to do things publike or elsewise? I'm quite up for less of the beer and more of the park, personally, but anything, really. Come on folks, make suggestions!

I was also going to say: start times? I'd be quite happy for something earlier, four-five ish, maybe find food or picnic or something if it's as nice as it was today. I shall be returning to sleepy Cambridge in the evening, but I'm sure that won't put a stop to festivities.

So yeah, folks. Make suggestions. But we want a meet and we want it now. Anybody?

Barbelith Young Team. Can we shorten that to BYT in a NKOTB kinda way??

Member of the BOT here (which sounds ruder than I mean it to).

Congratulations on finishing, Paleface! Unfortunately I have to go away for work this weekend and can't come out to play, but I hope you have fun.

In that case, I'm one of the BAT. And, alas, can't make it. But have pubby fun for me. As opposed to grubby fun, which I assume comes post-pub.

Another vote for tea-time sunshine in a park.

I want to play in the sunshine. Like Prince. Yes.

Barbelith Middle-Aged Team, or BarMAT reporting for duty.

Possibly... possibly... which park?

If you're middle-aged, I'm a tomato. But as people are forming teams, I suggest a rumble. In the park.

If the park thing is something people want there's always the Hampstead heath deal which I think is going on all Saturday evening/night - basically just a big picnic with lots of booze, and some rituals going on to?

Just an idea

Hmn. I'd prefer something a bit smaller/quieter than the Hampstead deal, really.

I don't know enough London Parks and stuff. Hyde is nice. Anywhere smaller? Any good suggestions? I don't live there, after all. I just want a picnic.

And K-CC, you're so not middle aged

Hey, I'll be in town tomorrow hanging around looking for fun stuff to do..

Although I possibly won't be able to check this thread again after now, so ,er, I wish I didn't hate mobile telephones so much..

Don't s'pose anyone's up for a bit of psychedelic rock oblivion in the evening? Thought not.

I'll try to check in again sometime later..

Regent's Park? It's lovely, and never gets the props it deserves from ingrates like you lot.

Not much help for tomorrow but next Saturday is London Squares Day if anyone's interested.

Probably won't be around -- still recovering from the excesses of last weekend, and have stuff I really need to get done. 'Sides, you lot probably won't even have decided on a park by the end of the afternoon, anyway ;]

Look in an A-Z and pick a park. They'll all be as busy as each other, in this weather.

Victoria Park!
London Fields!
Utterly disinterested perspective, honest!

I'd have no problem with London Fields but people never seem to be able to cope with negotiating tubeless Hackney. Regent's Park is nice and near tube stations, though... Great Portland Street, Camden, etc.

Regents Park would be good if people are planning on gigging in Camden in the evening.

Okay, let's say Regents Park at 4:15 on Saturday afternoon. Any good landmarks there???

(Damn I'm going to have to get up before 3pm but at least the sun is smiling down upon us.)

Isn't regent's park the one with the dirty great zoo in it?

Perhaps we can all see real live tigers!

Regent's sounds brilliant. Someone who knows it suggest a landmark, please.

And bring picnic stuff.

About the only two landmarks I can recall is the big fountain in the middle or the children's play area. BARBELITH CLAIMS THIS ROUNDABOUT anyone? However, With work during the day may not be able to make it tomorrow.

The Strobe

Right, I'm so bringing a flyposter for the roundabout. Fountain, then?

Fountain indeed. We can be a fraction cooler for being near running water.

Not a chance for me, I fear - can't be in sunlight for any length of time or will explode. Might catch you up in the evening, perhaps...

Sorry, I'm already triple-booked today. But just imagine I'm there, being drunk and falling over. And possibly talking about badgers. Or midgets.

Fountain at... 1615-1630, then? I'll look up directions on the net. If anyone wants my mobile, PM me. I have Anna and Harmony's numbers, I'm sure we can network somehow...

1630 probably easier for me. So hang around, please - I'll let people know and ETA when I'm there. Bring picnic stuff!

I have a very important date with Cherry Bomb but might make it later on (and, like Haus, I can't be in the sun for too long, so later is probably a better option from my point of view...)

Ok, 4.30 it is then but I'm not sure about picnic stuff.

The Strobe

Excellent. I also cannot be in the sun too long for obvious reasons, so vote finding a big tree to sit under. And those with appropriate melatonin levels can sit in the sun. And I shall hide in the shade.

Later would be excellent, folks, though
