Just got these CD's (mostly used) at Amoeba. Less than $100 for the whole package. Sure: vinyl = hipper and MP3 = cheaper, but a roadie gotta have sum of dem thangs, ye know?

And the burning exchange is always sweet. Anyone wanna swap? I know there was a thread on this, but someone said to only post the CD's you were looking for. Here's a thread dedicated to the narcissistic listing of the CD's you just purchased at your local super store. (hopefully you got as good a deal as I did)

(lots of angry riot music here: preparing for Seattle LEIU rally road trip)

Delerium - Morpheus
Melt-Banana - Cactuses Come in Flocks
Busta Rhymes - Anarchy
The Future Sounds of London - Dead Cities
Siouxsie and the Banshees - Peepshow
Atari Teenage Riot - Burn, Berlin, Burn!
Add N to (X) - Avant Hard
Here Are The Facts You Requested - Shocks + Struts
Breakdown - Battle Hymns for an Angry Planet
Deviates - Time is the Distance
Lightning Seeds - Sense
Flying Nuns - Everything's Impossible These Days
Sepultura - Nation
King Crimson - Thrak
Mr Mixel Pixel - Mappy Land
Pawns - Power and Wealth Need Slaves
Rorschach Test - Peace Minus One
Guided By Voices - Universal Truths and Cycles
Decwrecka - A Better Tomorrow?
Powerman 5000 - Transform.
Dogon - The Sirius Expeditions

You know, thank god we've got folks like you out there buying shitloads of records, because somebody's gotta pick up the slack of the broke p2p addicts who used to spend money the way you are now.

Seriously!

a particular hurrah for Melt Banana, ATR and Guided by Voices.

That particular Add N to X album is mightily excellent as well (although I've been less than impressed with their subsequent records - why I feel it's necessary to mention this I don't know..)

And isn't Amoeba records amazing? I bought a similarly huge ton of stuff there when I was in LA - got practically everything on my list of expensive/hard-to-find-in-UK American indie albums for $6 each or something..

Avant Hard is quickly becoming one of my favorite albums. I'd been looking for it for years, it seems, only I didn't know that until I found it. Suddenly everything clicked. Very spiritual stuff. (for a happyborg living in a video game, guys!)

Missed Melt Banana in SF a few months ago. They're still touring, though. London in November sounds good. Up for a gathering?

I love love love Amoeba, especially the one in Berkeley. Even with Rasputin on Telegraph it's still kicking ass. Some of the native Haight streeters are still a little upset about it taking over the rock bowling, though. I love watching the punks spange in front of there, because the workers go through this adorable political dilemma related to asking them to leave or not.

Is that the same amoeba that used to be a tiny little raver store that sold mixtapes and tie-dye clothing on upper haight about 8 years ago? I'm amazed that it still exists, let alone turned into a chain! Jeez.

That is truly bizarre for the Deckwrecka record to turn up in SF. Dunno what americans would make of it...

If Melt Banana are playing in the UK, somehow or other I will be there.
