OK, so I'd imagine everyone who lives within attending distance has other plans/better things to do/no enthusiasm time or money for such activity, but nevertheless, I thought I'd throw it open;

Psychedelic freak-rock messiahs Oneida are in town, playing at the Careless Talk.. night in Highbury on friday 30th (probably) and at Camden Underworld the following night, supported by those deviant Black-Sabbath-meets-Sonic-Youth-in-a-really-extreme-acid-trip noise bastards, The Heads.

And myself and others will be going to both. Wild Zero style rock n' roll antics are planned between the two, but we'll probably just end up bumming around in Camden, saying "wow, that gig was great", as is our prerogative in life..

So if this sounds like anyone's cup of tea, you're more than welcome to join us..

If you're planning to get into some hedonistic riot like rocking and a rolling frenzy on a Friday night, post gig, I may well be up for that. Will tickets be available for the Highbury gig?

There are no tickets, just pay on the door - £5 I believe..

A post gig rock n roll frenzy can't be guaranteed, (we'll have to see whether the power of rock n roll can overcome the power of dull hipster people and over-priced bottled beer), but a during gig one certainly can..

The Saturday could easily be a goer. I veer towards post gig drinking and dancing as well, though.

playing at the Careless Talk.. night in Highbury on friday 30th (probably)

Where are Oneida from? Headlining at that night are a MASSIVE SECRET SPECIAL BROOKLYN BAND WHO ARE INCREDIBLE AND HUGE AND INCREDIBLE according to the CTCL website - I was thinking of going along on the off-chance it's the Yeah Yeah Yeahs...

Oneida are;

a. from Brooklyn
b. pals with Everett True
c. playing in London the following evening
and d. I sent them an email asking if they were playing and they said they could "neither confirm nor deny", but that they would indeed be present and that I should go.

so I think it's a pretty done deal.

Imagine if it was the YYY's though .. crazy!.. everybody else would be like "WOW!" and I'd go "I'm a bit disappointed, I prefer Oneida".

If anyone's going, do say hello. In case you don't know me, I'll be the awkward kid with glasses / too much hair / blue Apes T-shirt.
