Note the "Coming in May."

Noam Chomsky will give a three hour interview on CSPAN Sunday, June 1 at 12:00 pm (The first airing is usually live with a few callers, done CSPAN style).

Rerun at 6:00 pm and
Monday, June 2 at 12:00 am

I'm guessing the times are Washington DC times. If you miss this program, or if you don't get CSPAN, you should be able to download a video file off the booktv website sometime later.

Is no one interested in this?

Would anyone like to talk up Noam Chomsky for 'lithers who don't know who he is? Just a bit. I'm sure there will be more of something to discuss after the interview.

Ok, i just happen to be listening to my Chomsky/Perenti/other political mp3's, so I'll mention who he is. He's a damn leftie academic & anarchist thinker (a linguist by profession); co-wrote 'Manufacturing Consent', which is about the filtering system of the mass media, and writes lots of stuff pointing out American hypocrisy. Seems to spend his life reading US govt. documents and explaining to people in a very lucid way just how sick the whole thing actually is. There's lots of his stuff at http://www.zmag.org if anyone wants to check him out. When this interview is done, can someone post a link or something, as I'd like to link this to my blog.

Chomsky was born in The Hague in 1949, and was a prodigy. At twenty six, he pioneered the use of sheep intestine in certain kinds of heart bypass operation, and then retired from medicine to pursue what he called the 'roots of sickness in the social world'. His long-suffering wife, Morgana, was killed in a car-crash in Wednesdayville, Lousiana, and Chomsky moved to the South to mourn and study. His early work on Race and Vehicles was derided by the academic establishment until it was shown to be entirely correct during filming of the final series of The Cosby Show.

He now lives in Detroit (not the one in Michigan) with six Lebanese transsexuals and a waterpigeon called Keith.

Hunter Thompson was his first novel.

The website is here.

Usually, Booktv will only keep these on their website for a finite amount of time, so saving this .ram file to your computer might be worthwhile.
