The two books I read from her, "Peony" and "The Good Earth", I found in an old apartment and took home, and in both I found the reading to be very enjoyable, to say the least.
So I wanted to start this thread where we could talk about this and that, and take the conversation hither and thither (ok, I'm stopping with the bad impression now) about her work, her style, her achievements.
How is she regarded in the literary community, having won the kiss of death that the Nobel Prize often is? I don't know too much about her, I admit, but I think this could be an excellent place to learn more about her. So: Like her, hate her? Have a related anecdote to share? Bring em on! |
