I had an awful moment yesterday.

I heard the news about the Tories wanting to scrap tuition fees and breifly though to myself "there's a reason to vote Conservative over Labour".

I'm begining to suspect that my brain really doesn't like me these days.

While I feel better that it turns out to be a good headline for a crap plan but it's not enough.

Can anyone recommend a cure?

Joking aside, the reason they can afford to do this is because they are proposing scrapping Labour's target of 50% into higher education. And remember that under labour the poorest students don't pay tuition fees anyway.

So don't vote tory.

MCB is right: they want LESS people in higher education.
Their logic, if im correct, was "loads of people drop out of uni, and that costs the taxpayer money. So lets have less in in the first place"

But don't feel unclean simply because one corrupt party temporarily appealed to your idealism when another corrupt party owns your notional allegiance.

I doubt that there is anything that the evil blue monkeys could do to make me actually vote for them when the moment of pen in hand came along.

I just have that lingering feeling of tainted, like when I shook hands with Bill Gates.
