An artist has infuriated New Yorkers by painting a sign reading "CAUTION Low Flying Planes" on a building near Ground Zero.
James Peterson, who painted the acrylic-on-brick work over the weekend, said it was meant as a memorial to the attack on the World Trade Center a few blocks away and he did not mean to offend anyone.

WTC Painter defends 'low flying' work

"Yesterday, City Hall officials said the commission will issue a letter of warning to the owner of the building"

Well I think its funny- but then I dont know anyone who died in 9/11. So i can see why they'd be a bit egdy bout it.
As for a work of art- fucking fantastic.

I do know people who died there and I saw it first-hand, and I still think it's funny. The real issue is Lower Manhattan zoning politics, which are Byzantine, not offended sensitivities.
