Magick in Dreams

I don't know if this has been brought up in a previous thread or not, but here it goes. Yesterday while taking a nap, I had one of those dreams that seem as real as waking life, nothing really strange or dreamlike happened in this dream. The strange thing was that I performed a chaos magick ritual. In my waking life i have yet not performed any spell or ritual basically because I am still reading up on the subject and do not want to go in with out being well prepared. In the dream i remember forming the sigil, but not how I charged it. By the end of the dream I had found that the spell had worked, and I was overjoyed. Needless to say, the desire of the spell was a desire I am having in my waking life right now. basically what I'm wondering is if anyone has had an experience where they performed a spell or ritual in there dreams, will the affects of the dreams spell leak out into the waking world?

Not that I recall, but I'm lousy at recall right now. I've actually been experimenting with a possible method of inducing such experiences by making recordings to play for myself during sleep, sort of "hypnorituals". I'm experimenting with this under the assumption that rituals performed in sleep are just as effective as rituals performed in the astral during waking, perhaps even more so because you bypass all that bullshit in the conscious mind resulting from holding contradictory belief systems at once. In the dreamstate, contradictory belief systems don't interfere with each other.

Perhaps there's a reason why I'm experimenting with hypnorituals and you're doing cm ritual in your dreams, at about the same general time?

I'm eager to hear other people's experiences. I just had an interesting insight with regards to my hypnorituals as well-- Thanks for posting, Andy! *scurries off to work*

Verrry interesting that this comes up, because I had a vivid dream last night (though I can only remember small bits of it) that several of the major goals I've been wokring on in magickal workings came true with one glorious fell swoop!

Sounds to me like the interest you've been showing in magick is expressing itself in your dreams - after all, it's the sort of subject that's going to stir up your psyche.

I haven't had any experience of dream wish fufilment leaking out into day to day life that I can recall but I've had this the other way round ie. I've had desires (some of which) I've sigilised for - which have expressed themselves in my dreams (ie. I've found lost objects in the dream). I wonder if dreaming things like this acts "expression" of a desire which prevents it coming to fruition in waking life - as if the energy available is limited, and it's expression in dream "channels" it, and prevents it expressing in reality? That's kind of what it feels like to me. I'd just say try some experiments and see what happens.

Thanks for the feedback folks...I've been thinking alot about the dream lately. The desire which I have in my dream has been nagging in the back of my mind for awhile. For certian reasons, however I have been denying that desire. Now, because of the dream Ican admit it to myself. Heres hoping I can make it a reality in the waking world...
