What kind of message (or other response) are you getting when you try to log on?

Have you checked how your cookies are set up? It may not be allowing you to save them? Or are you getting the "banned IP" message?

You're not using Opera, by any chance?

I get this - for both my barb log in and my Hotmail account - unfortuately though it's on my works PC. Can't really go and sort it out with the IT boys - "yeah, you know that bulletin board I've clocked up 72 hours on in the last week? I can't log in! Can you help me out?"

Can ya PM me the answer if you figure it out, Meme?

I'm sure Roth's right -- it's because your browser is currently set to refuse cookies. Many log-in sites need cookies to be accepted in order to work.

If you're using Internet Explorer on Windows it's probably Tools\Internet options\Privacy to get to the control by which you change this.

Meme: also, do you have firewall software on your PC?

Yeah, check your Tools/Options/Security settings in IE and make sure it is set to "medium"

Finally solved this one by changing ISP, bafflingly - figure that one out.

But I previously tried all the stuff you guys recommended - changing the security and privacy settings through IE/Tools/Internet Options and none of that worked. No, I wasn't using 'Opera', fridge, whatever that is when it's at home. But ta for the help y'all
fuck, I do hate computers sometimes
