A great friend of mine picked me up early in the morning Thursday so I wouldn't sit on the couch all day watching Jerry Springer and feeling useless. So later that day she gets a call from her Regional manager asking if she knew anyone with management experience. That would be me. She works for a watch company that has stores all over the U.S., and I know nothing about watches, but I thought I'd turn in a resume' anyway just to get some interview practice. Well it turns out I actually knew the regional, she used to manage the store across from mine a little while ago before getting promoted, and she hired me on the spot as an assistant manager. Not exactly a job in the publishing industry, but it is something with pretty set hours, which will allow me to get back to school, learn how to write, and make enough to pay the bills. |
