I've just found out I've been fired. I don't feel good at all. Can anyone try a sigil for me? Something with finding a job soon or good fortune or something like that? I just don't have a very positive feeling right now. I'm generally a pretty confidant guy, but you know. Damn.

Hang in there, Jack - I'll start to work on something for you. Sending good vibes your way for now. Have you tried magickal workings for yourself before?

Bad one, remember it's only a job. Still a blow to the ego to be fired, but it'll wear off pretty quick won't it? Can't do a sigil but I'll do what I can- what sort of job would you like to do? (on top of the positivity and good vibes I'll send of course)

I've done sigils before, but I can't do them when I'm depressed and negative. As far as what job I want, preferably something in publishing, but I'd take anything that just paid the bills.

Just to clear up any misunderstandings. I said I couldn't really do sigils when I was upset and negative, but I meant that I don't feel the focus when I'm like this. My bits and pieces still work of course. Ahem.

Okay, came to this a bit late and the crisis is now over. (I think yr okay for at least the next couple of years, J.D., give or take some bumps.) However, there's some useful points to be made about the limitations of the sigil technique.

What we have here is a classic case of Lust For Result (TM A. O. Spare, before someone invokes the copyright angels ). When you're "depressed and negative", you tend to be obsessing a little about a certain topic. You want something so badly that you can't stop thinking about it, thus putting the kibosh on your sigil. (Even though all the relevant bits and pieces are still shipshape and Bristol fashion, of course.)

A great friend of mine picked me up early in the morning Thursday so I wouldn't sit on the couch all day watching Jerry Springer and feeling useless. So later that day she gets a call from her Regional manager asking if she knew anyone with management experience. That would be me. She works for a watch company that has stores all over the U.S., and I know nothing about watches, but I thought I'd turn in a resume' anyway just to get some interview practice. Well it turns out I actually knew the regional, she used to manage the store across from mine a little while ago before getting promoted, and she hired me on the spot as an assistant manager. Not exactly a job in the publishing industry, but it is something with pretty set hours, which will allow me to get back to school, learn how to write, and make enough to pay the bills.

Well, since you're in the time industry, I decided to charge after the fact.
That way, if it did nothing, I won't know, and if it did something, I can say
"see! I sent that sigil back in TIME! How's that for doubt!"

Good luck with the new digs.

That's terrific, Jack! Love how that worked out... very glad to hear it.

What do you want to do in publishing, incidentally? Write fiction, articles or what?
