ELEKTRA FLICK GETS 2004 PRODUCTION START

From X-Fan

According to [...] Variety, screenwriters Stu Zicherman and Raven Metzner have been signed up for 20th Century Fox's planned Elektra spin-off film. Actress Jennifer Garner is set to reprise her role as the sultry martial artist.

Fox are reportedly looking at a 2004 production start date on the film, which will coincide with Garner's hiatus from her starring role in TV's Alias.

[...] the screenwriters were hired thanks to the strong script they penned for another Marvel movie project in Deathlok, currently in production at Paramount. Elektra will be produced by Mark Steven Johnson, Gary Foster, and Marvel's Avi Arad.

The film will take place shortly after the events in Daredevil, and "relies heavily" on veteran Daredevil writer Frank Miller's "Elektra Saga". Elektra's martial arts mentor Stick will reportedly play a central role in the film which will see Elektra battling the ninja clan known as The Hand.

No director has been chosen yet [...]

I have a strange feeling creeping through my back as I reread the last paragraph, especially after having seen the DD movie that was also "heavily drawing" of Miller's take of the character. Whatever, good news I suppose. Proposed castings for Stick?? Remember the chinese fella that taught David Carradine??

And I have to ask this... Has she made any soft-porn movie??? If you tell me it was actually hard-porn I suppose I'll have a heart attack before even seeing it.

Keye Luke? Also seen in GREMLINS?

Dead, alas, these twelve years now.

As for Jennifer Garner: here's her filmography. Doesn't look to be any porn on there.

Mmmmmmmm.... I've always loved the FM series on her. Which of course means I'll probably hate the film adaptation. Still, there is much potential for coolness here. I mean, it can't be worse than DD, can it? Then again, considering the history of comic to movie adaptations, it certainly could.
