Waiting for Melissa - a comedy

Instinctive and Einekleine Theatre present "Waiting for Melissa" at the White Bear Pub Theatre, 138 Kennington Park Road (Kennington tube) SE11, from Tuesday 29th April to Sat 3rd May, 9.30pm. £7/£5 concs. Box office 020 7793 9193.

This sparkling new boy-almost-meets-girl comedy is written by Times columnist and playwright Nick Thomas, and features Adrian Peck, star of ITV's Sitcom Trials, in the role of Joe.

Melissa is ravishing. Melissa is clever. Melissa is the woman Joe has been waiting his whole life for - the only problem tonight is that Joe is still waiting, and Melissa's very late indeed...

From the team who brought you Time Out Critic's Choice "Dancing Bears", a brilliant and bitter romp through one man's twisted thoughts as he sits in a bar, waiting for the dream girl who may never materialise. A balls-out Bridget Jones. Features gratuitous use of the word "sperm".

I'm directing, please come. Cross-posted in the Gathering to get the largest possible Barbeaudience.

Better, isn't it?

Can I just say at this point that there's a very good reason why that picture is absolutely terrifying me?

So it's nothing to do with the fact that his right hand is larger than his head, then?

Newsflash

Run has now been extended by a week. The show's now on at 8pm from Tuesday 6th May to Sat 10th at Manzi's restaurant (upstairs bar - drink while you watch), 1-2 Leicester Street (just off Leicester Sq - go out of exit 2 at Leics Sq tube, turn left, left again into Little Newport Street, keep walking and it becomes Leicester St)

Can I put in a plea for anyone who fancies seeing it next week to come on Tuesday, cos that's when our generous sponsors are in and we could do with a large, friendly Barbecrowd?

Advert over. Sorry.

Oh and by the way, due to cheaper venue all tickets are now only £5. Hooray!

If you come to Leeds I'll do a review of it.

That's to Whisky about the play, by the way, not Haus about the exhaustion.
