Well, this has been discussed, and I thought it might as well happen. The concept is pretty self-explanatory - you have something you don't want any more, someone else does want it and has something cool to offer in return. So swops away, folks...

I'll go first. I have a brand new unused polished pewter chalice (exactly as shown in the picture, worth £19.95) - anyone?

Hmmm, nice chalice!
I've got a whole load of paperback sci-fi novels...
In fact I'll go home and write a list of all the stuff I want to get rid of that isn't tat and come back to you.

Galaxie 500 - "This is our music" cd, without case. Had it for years, always hated it, apparently it's quite desirable, so whatcha gonna give me for it?

A mint-condition spare copy of the Frogmore Papers, vol. 50. Contains poetry by such luminaries as Susan Wicks, Mario Petrucci, and Tobias Hill, whom you might even have heard of. No need to swop unless it's for another obscure poetry magazine or back issues of British sci-fi mags - I'm givin' it away.

I have three Star Wars Episode One posters in good condition. They were used to advertise a pre release event in Germany and are of a limited print run of 1000. The ones that I have are extras which were fleeced from the good pile at my time of working for the company.

I've got a spare copy of Pavement's "Slanted & Enchanted" and also Iain Banks "Look to Windward" (paperback).

I'd swap for the Lacesmeister's Galaxie 500 CD in a flash, but I'd imagine it would be a pyrrhic victory for him to say the least!

I've got 11 copies of Tubular Bells on vinyl. Will swap stuff for more copies. I don't even like the record much, but you know what it's like when you start a collection...

If you would like to own a copy of Time's Arrow by Martin Amis then please contact me. In return I would welcome any book that isn't about the holocaust, war criminals or about a man's life starting at his death and working back to his birth.

Well, I am parting with my leg spreaders. Fucking heavy adjustable iron leg-spreaders with industrial strength leather cuffs. Hardly used - literally maybe three times, as-new condition. I'm letting them go because I can't cart them around with me. Picture on request. You'd have to offer me something fantastically cool in return though, as they cost me over £60. And you'd have to be able to pick them up from London, because I don't even want to think about what postage would cost.

Also an unused black crop, £20 from Expectations. Because it's too long to be easily hidden away in the bag I have to store my gear. And because I find crops a bit useless, personally.

Offered: one as-new CD copy of the album Play, by Moby. Unplayed.

Will acceptin return: your assurances that your liking for Moby is an aberrance in your otherwise excellent music taste.

Chol - the crop (riding, I presume) would be cool - but what kind of funky shit are you currently in need of that I could give you in return? I have far, far too many clothes and shoes - got any sartorial needs?

Cholister, I have an ok-ish Cambridge Audio amplifier with phono stage that's worth around £100 new (although less now cos it's a little battered looking). Wanna swap for leg spreaders?

Quantum, concerning your books, I started a Book Exchange Thread a while back. It went the way of all flesh after I neglected to list any I wished to exchange. Anyway, if you're interested, here's the link.

Still no takers on the Pavement CD? C'mon, I'll throw in a CDR of the Byrds greatest hits, of which I have two for some reason.

I'm game, Riz - let me go through the dusty recesses of my own CD collection and see if there's anything I can offer in return (like, 2 dozen random singles by unheard-of bands that may or may not be any good but were sent to me when I edited a student paper...).

In fact, I need to make an inventory of stuff I'll swap - I have at least one bin-liners worth of unwanted clothing, too...

I'm in desperate need of some kind of 4 (or 8) track recording device, and I hoped someone might have an old one gathering dust in their loft (especially those of you who make music and have gone digital over the past few years or so).

Now, I've raided my pit looking for something I could swap but I don't own much, other than a load of records and books. Then I realised that many of you are comic lovers and that I've got a load of old 'Uncanny X-men' comics I could relinquish (all in good condition).

The oldest ones I have are numbers, 136, 149, 179, 181, 184, 186, 187, 189, 192, 198, 205, 218, 241, 245, 247, 248, 249, 252, 254.

Then there's a pile containing many (but not all) from, 274 - 321.

Also up for grabs are some of the 'X-men' comics launched in 1991, you know the one where they split into "blue" and "gold" teams*, including number 1 and a few others. Oh, and I have the Arthur Adams drawn 'The All New X-men Giant Sized Annual Number 10' as well.

So, anyone interested? I don't care if the 4 x track is tape, digital, whether it has loads of fancy gadgets or just a few pushy buttons. I just need to be able to record more than one "track" at a time.

If you don't want the comics, I could always give you a kidney.

* I haven't collected in years, so I have no idea how many X-related comics there are now, or whether any of the comics from my day are still going; hence my ignorance.

Cheers, Bryan. I try and stay out of the Comics fora, as reading comics was a costly addiction that took me years to kick and I'm waaay out of touch now -- but Dog bless libraries, eh?

I'll go right now and put a link to my previous post in the thread you recommended.

Again, thanks.

Princess, I know you didn't mean it as a joke, but I just imagined you saying that on Dragon's Den and now I've got coffee coming out of my nose.

Hope your financial situation gets better, by the way. Being skint's shit, innit?

Princess Swash, I may take you up on that and ask you to spend a night dancing said body's butt off at a place of your choosing. If interested PM me your terms.

I believe you are honorable enough to undertake such a thing without supervision, correct?

Ooh, hadn't spotted this thread before...

I have some old consoles, a NES, a SNES, and a dreamacast, with assorted games and accessories. I'd like them to go to a home where they get used, in whatever way possible.

The catch is that none of them seem to display anything when turned on. They might just need cleaning, or they might be properly knackered. They'd suit a project like the NES alarm clock though. They've got lots of games with them too. (Please excuse the size of the first picture, it was hard to read the game titles any smaller).

The NES and the SNES
The Dreamcast

They're quite heavy altogether, so if you want all of them, it's probably best you collect them, or I drop them off, or we meet up half way. I'm in Brighton mostly. You're welcome to one or all of the consoles, as long as you take all the bits that go with them!

I'd like to swap them for camera bits - filters, a big kit bag, odd old lenses that'll fit a Canon EF lens mount, whatever you might have that's interesting. Other than that, I'd also like a courier bag type thing, so if you've got a cool one of those you're bored with, let me know! If you still want them, and you've none of that stuff, just suggest anything you think a slightly (who am I kidding?) geeky bloke might need.

Well, that rather depends on the services provided and the item\cash offered in exchange.

Also, yes, the dragon's den would be hilarious.

Well, if you're ever in London, I'll buy you a pint if you bring your bodhrán and give me a quick lesson. (it was the bodhrán you played, right?). Although, give me warning as I'm usually skint.

I can't play the bhodran properly (or spell it). I can bang it vigourously, but it's not like proper playing.
Does anyone here have a salvia-divinorum plant? What would they want in exchange for a cutting?

Resurrecting this in time for Christmas. I think we're going to need it.

The thing that I am trying to get rid of is so offensive to my eye that I will basically give it away to anyone who wants it, although if they had something (books, whatever) they want to sling my way that would be good too.

It's a white-and-glitter star-shaped photo frame by Gisela Graham, with three fairly realistic (i.e. not cartoon) model fairies sitting on it, and not only do I not have any star-shaped photos (duh) it's also the twee-est thing I have ever seen. Secret Santa clearly does not know me very well.

I would be more than happy, I would be grateful, if it were to go to a good home, i.e. a ten-year-old girl's dressing table, the mantelpiece of a lover of kitsch, or the bedroom of one who believes themselves to be a Fae (sp?).

I can't right-click on a picture of anything similar, annoyingly, but you'll get the idea if you go here and scroll down to the photo frames. Anyone know anyone who might want it? I can post it to anywhere in the UK, probably in time for Christmas if you let me know as soon as possible.
