Now, have any of you experimented with majik through the latest in nerdish popculture, namley X-box and the like? Any stories to tell?

Ahh... Im sorry, although that thread is mainly on the subject of first-person shoters. So, I can still barley justify the exsistence of this topic

I'll join ya!

Hmmm... one of the simplest exercises is to warp probability. I've had good results getting a high/positive return on chance elements: random number generators on power-ups, winning more than losing in online rpg stats, etc.

Although I don't have an X-Box, I've found that the PS one and two are amenable to this kind of trickery. I've also had a bash at using these random numbers for divination - a bit like dice divination. Mixed results there, the most memorable being a negative result that allowed me to push the situation completely out of my mind... then suprising me by actually turning out how i wanted it.

something about lust for result?
or too much toking and gaming?

Hmmm... interesting.. I was thinking about using the x-box game Jet Set Radio Future(JSRF) for the creation of a Servitor I will call GOS (Godess Of Sex. This I would do by making a contract with my newly created Servitor; she gives me a summer of casual sex, and I will dedicate the world of JSRF to her. This I will to by covering the viritual world of JSRF with the graffiti of her Sign/Symbol/Sigil whatever..

I know, just anotha`crazy ,slightly horny, magician

You could try the same with Half Life- you can tag the gameworld, although I don't think it's persistent

There's a link to the thread on first-person shooters above... The CS/HL spray lasts about the length of a gameround and you can have two showing at any time. This is more than enough for most of both teams to see your sigil, if you manage to bomb the respawn points.

They're more likely to be concentrating on the action than really registering any underhanded magickal trickery. Bonus.

The interesting angle Faustuz is showing is this concept of *validating the reality of the gameworld*, rather than simply using the virtual world as a medium of conveyance (delivering a sigilbomb). As it is laid out so far, the technique seems to be devotional: "I will dedicate this world entirely to you".

A secondary point which could be inferred from the fps thread is that people already subconsciously valdiate the reality of the gameworld, in as much as they use it as a virtual prison. Here is the reality in which the *DarkPersona* vents harmlessly.

mixmage has helpfully reminded me of this thread, in respect of the The RetroPsychoKinesis Project. Like some of the experiments above, the RPKP also involves the use of psi to influence a string of randomly generated numbers.
