Kirby energy references

What are the references for representations of Kirby Energy? I wanted to use a few in my vaguely-scripted Jenny Everywhere story. I have the Origin of Galactus, and the Bring Back the Bad Guys tpb, which should have a few examples. In your opinions, where does Jack Kirby go sci-fi buck wild best?

The recent Orion series was full of 'Kirbyesque' energy. Walt Simpson does knock off his style rather well...

KIRBY DOTS!

I've been coming off as comic's cranky killjoy around here, so I thought I'd post some of the King's work and rejoice in the splendor of the Kirby Krackle. Excelsior!

Kirby's dots didn't really start up until later in the Fantastic Four, around the halfway mark of his run. The above is taken from issue #57.

If your origin of Galactus is the same as mine, then you probably have all you need right there. This comic is ridiculously easy to find.

The New Gods is when Kirby really started to get crazy with the dots. After the Fourth World folded, his dots ceased to be just part of the background or depictions of power. They took on a life of their own, along with Kirby's other quirks, in his late 70s work like OMAC, 2001, and Kamandi.

Kirby Dots in 3-D!

If you're looking to Kirby for other stylistic innovations, look no further than his infamous photo-collage 2 page spreads.

Yes. 2001. I just remembered that this existed not too long ago and picked up the whole series on eBay for a low, low price. Kirby's interpretation of that which unfolded after the events in 2001: A Space Odyssey, in the Mighty Marvel Manner (which, of course, has absolutely nothing at all to do with, oh, the Mighty Kubrick Manner or the Mighty Clarke Manner)! This, my friends, is the absolute shit. Plenty of Kirby tropes to spare and a rollicking, goofy good time.

But, yes, other than that I would also recommend the Fourth World stuff (New Gods, Mister Miracle, Forever People, etc.).

just like to echo the 4th world recommendations, kirby unleashed to full effect, and those 2 page galactic spreads, people with hands the size of planets coming right out of the page at you

i really liked the forever people mini-series that jim dematties did too, i thought it kept fairly close to the spirit of the originals

never saw the jimmy olsen stuff kirby did at the same time though. anyone got these?
or links to good sites on the 4th world stuff
