I've harped on about what a different person I am now than I was a year ago. But one deeply entrenched demon I would like to exorcise is my tendency to break into a cold sweat when dealing with things financial. (I'm a math major for crying out loud--why does adding a "$" to the front of the numbers freak me out so?) Dealing with the student loan office, paying the rent on time, doing my taxes... I should be able to handle these things by now.
Tax day seems to make an appropriate financial New Year's Eve, so come April 16th I'm hoping to have some rituals, symbols, appropriate godforms, and/or plain ol' mundane organizational tips to follow and get me out of this. Does anyone have any suggestions or relevant experiences to share? My only current idea is I might like to try to personalize/demon-ize the fear so that I can "fight" it, but I wouldn't really know how (and I'm not married to the idea, anyway). |
