No no, don't get excited, nobody's actually making a Secret Wars movie, at least not to my knowledge. In fact as a little aside I'd like to formally invite anyone who does know of one being made to please let everybody know on this thread. That'd be great, thanks.

But to the matter in hand - anyone who read the mid-80s British reprints of Marvel Super Heroes Secret Wars may remember the letters page, which often suggested actors and actresses they deemed suitable to play the various characters in the story, should it ever be made into a film.

Yep, you guessed it, I want to resurrect this tradition right here, right now, movie budget no object, so here goes.

I'll start by saying that I really like Tobey Maguire's Spider-Man, and the whole cast of X-Men, but I'm sure everyone's got better casting ideas than that.

My personal opinion is that 'Secret Wars' should stay as a comic book, the film WILL inevitably be crap. If you've read it then you'll realise that it's almost impossible to make a feasible movie about it. There are too many main characters and too many crazy locations. BAD IDEA! Lets get a petition up and running to prevent anyone making the film. I love movies but 'Secret Wars' should remain merely a comic.
