has anyone been taping/tivo'ing/vidcapturing this series on channel4? I particularly want to get hold of this Saturday's episode: "The Triumph of Reason: The second episode of this series exploring man's eternal search for an explanation for life charts the impact of industrialisation and rationalism on our belief in the supernatural."

thanks in advance...

Watched it, though it was almost entirely about the retreat from an unthinking 'ignorant' (for want of a better word) Christian world-view to a form of Christianity informed by science.

as mentioned in this
thread
I am videoing the whole series, which you are most welcome to borrow my friend, but only after I've watched them all.

Recokn next weeks, final episode will be worth watching as it's the modern day "revival" of magical beliefs.

Agreed, Quantum. Here's me betting that Alan Moore will make an appearance...

Saturday's was duller than the Red Hot Chilli Peppers.

It sounded boring in the write up so I haven't watched it, worse than that ridiculous programme with a load of thirteen year old girls talking crap about spells and the wheel of the year. Magic doesn't really work on TV- I recall an Everyman show that was quite good about six years ago and something about Crowley on channel 4 a little while ago that was pretty interesting but generally I don't know why they bother.

The Crowley thing Anna was part of Channel 4's "Masters of Darkness" series (which I also have on video, well the crowley episode anyway) and was a neatly put together series, let down by including an episode on de sade which left the formula of the other three.
