Chelsea, despite never having resided anywhere near the South West of London. It's good to see obtaining some match-winning consitency after seasons of Real Madrid-esque feats of skill followed by psychotic defensive lapse. So not enough for me have lost, in true Fever Pitch style, a feeling of almost existential nervousness and ill-feeling whenever I watch them play. I was worried for ages that we were threatening to "do a Leeds" (sorry plums) and spiral frighteningly down the league. To my relief, Leeds have done so instead.
We still can't beat Arsenal though.
I also get my non-league kicks from Dad's team, the hilariously ill-monikered Chelmsford City. I still wonder why away fans never respond to our chant of "CITY!!!! CITY!!!!" with something along the lines of "You're just a medium-sized cathedral town in the commuter belt..." |
