Barbelith just got a plug in the Disinformation daily bulletin, as part of their promotion of Anarchy for the Masses.

Yes, folks, shameless self promotion time at Disinfo HQ: our
latest book "Anarchy For The Masses" has arrived in our online
store and good book retailers near you. Rumors are circulating
that "Invisibles" creator Grant Morrison and Disinfo Dark Lord
Richard Metzger are collaborating on a grimoire. Some of the MP3
files circulating on Kazaa of Radiohead's new album "Hail To The
Thief" have been tweaked with; check out NLP cofounder Richard
Bandler's site below for another trance induction technique. And if
you're still wondering about Morrison check out Jason Louv's great
interview on the Disinfo site or pay a visit to our friends in the
Barbelith community (http://www.barbelith.com/). You can read another
"Anarchy"-related review/special excerpt at the awesome "Pop Image" site:

And strangely in this weeks Need to Know though I have no idea what it means. Tom?

The funny little postcode database thing put itself up for sale on Thursday and, for once, we can't muster up our usual joy at someone else's misfortune. UMS gave money and spare cycles to FaxYourMP, sheltered the people behind Barbelith and the Samuel Pepys Diary...

UMS = UpMyStreet, Tom's day job. Phil Gyford, who runs the Pepys Diary Online, also works for UpMyStreet, which is the "funny little postcode database thing" in question, and which is apparently in its death throes.

Sorry to hear that, Tom.

So the NTK guy, who usually larfs and larfs when a dotcom goes belly-up, can't bring himself to do so at the demise of UpMySTreet, because some of the people involved with UMS are so cool.

Or because he knows them IRL like. Or they know where he lives.

You wouldn't for a moment be suggesting, KKC, thatn Our Tom is anything but so damn cool?

Oh no, of course not - just that too... Tom is of course extraordinarily cool and marvellous (and grumpy) and I hope UMS finds a good buyer sharpish.

Though he would, Buddhalike, protest the cool thing, methinks.

i work for a site that sells military technology B2B. missile engine components. GPS systems. riot armour. family sized inflatable NBC shelters. (and here's the conscience appeasing bit folks...) field hospitals.

you know, for kids!

i dream of working for a failing dot com.

but those craaaaazee half gig daily raw log files ensure my job, pay cheque and give kind of a disturbin' image of just how many people search for the weapons stuff they see in the Daily Scum at the moment.

i am a bad man.
