The only way to end a thread is to stop posting on it and stop reading it.

Unless you just hype it up to the point where the argument dissolves into a ghastly row and no one wants to hear about it any more.

Alas, as some of the more fatuous junk threads have shown over the years, you can't really kill a thread people want to hold onto.

So there's no way to elegantly end a thread? It seems that way from reading the billions of old threads here.
My favourite was from Reflect- after a fat post with no replies ze posted 'Here comes the thread killer...' which was as elegant as I've seen.
