ok, so im freaking out a little...
there is a yahoo group i read semi regularly and occasionally post to.
This morning one of the moderators left a message stating that the NSA had contacted one of the mods via yahoo and that under the 1917 sedition act they were requesting IP and Proxy info regarding the members of the site...

so, having not read the last few days worth of stuff i found a few statements that fall under the act, considering we are at wartime.

Should I start dumping my mp3s and other downloaded stuff i dont exactly "own", or are they more likely to just bother the people that suggested delivering icecream to bush at 1200 feet per second and the guy who suggested that protesting a rally to support the troops was a good idea...

Er, I might be wrong, but given that there is no 1917 Sedition Act (only a 1918 Sedition Act or a 1917 Espionage Act), and that "this morning" was presumably April 1, is there no possibility that the message wuz an April Fool's joke (albeit a not very funny one)? I hope so anyway. If not, I'm not qualified to advise on your next move, sorry.

Aa-ah! But what if they were using the cover of an April Fool's gag to come round and kneecap and elbow you all? We wouldn't know until someone got it together to stick a pencil up their nose and type a warning message.
