Has anyone heard of this band? If so, what do you think about them? I saw then a few weeks ago in SF opening for Rasputina and I totally fell for the band. I can hardly describe their music... disjointed, electronic heartbeats, the most dramatic guy ever, beautiful. You either think it's utter crap or brilliant.

Not on my watch. I had to review a disc of theirs a couple of months ago, and thought they were the most overwrought shite I'd heard. And I like the bands they're aping.

I liked Petals a lot - the yearning desire for a world that had disappeared, leaving behind it a twisted dystopia that demonstrated, once and for all, that it was a wonderful life, is beautifully expressed.

Never seen/heard of Xiu Xiu, but as for depressing but lovable.. aint it great!

A while ago i was at the Physiotherapist and she was askin what kinda music i liked, and i said i really liked the Cure, and she looked at me in a "o my god, im dealing with a teenager whos about to kill herself" way. But its great, well, most of the time. Intermingled with happy clappiness every so often.
