To my surprise - and not in a good way - my sister tricked me into an ACN (or ADN) lecture today.

Short (a)version: Reminded me of the time some mates and I went to a Scientology meeting for a laugh, a mass, 'charismatic' speakers doing their best to convince you of every possible & positive aspect of what they're trying to sell.

Occult business models, especially the pyramid structure model, please help me in finding out more.

the only thing i can think of as far as pyrimids is that it is the easiest model for a centrally orginized authority structure to manage. as far as pyramids i've noticed alot poping up in architecture. you know i've never been able to find out why we don;t switch to something less exploitative, like all employees of a company owning an equal share and hiring the managers on an annual or semiannual basis, except the exploiters wanting to keep everything.

'covens' of staff arranged in an invisibles cell structure, five in a cell, the cells arranged in a web, the CEO as the Nexus running the Prime Cell of information distributors.
Problem with management structures is they *always* become pyramids anyway, people just work like that. Staff need a heirarchy.

It was ACN, A-something Communications Network.

Is there any material on the web, in libraries, your own writings, etc. about the occult premises businesses exploit or use?

Because as far as I am concerned, there are businesses far more occult in practice than others.

Are they consciously using occult models or are they unconsciously using structures that work? I think people accidentally rediscover occult principles all the time and rename them (e.g. Edward deBono)

Here's a link to GM's Disinfo interview which talks a bit about Pop Magick and business culture:

"... I've been obsessed with the corporate world--and the whole magic thing, I've been fed up with the occult, as you say, that whole aspect of it, and I just looked and I said, who's actually using magic? It's the corporations, they're doing it all the time--the NLP seminars, all that, if you listen to those management training tapes, they're fucking weird! And they’re using logos, they're using these incredibly powerful sigils to colonize imaginary space and media space. These guys are actually using magic in plain sight, and no-one knows what they're doing! They're using big-scale, world-changing magic, so I thought, well I'll get into some of that. And I've been doing rituals for two corporate entities now, and trying to do things with that, seeing how you can contact them and deal with them and what kind of bargains you can make with them . . ."

Also check out the Douglas Rushkoff interview in the Disinfo Interviews book (unfortunately it's not been reprinted on disinfo.com). He's another corporate infiltrator, seeding advertising with couter-culture magick.

I'm still not sure how I feel about this...
