Hey toksik, have you heard the one? ... oh right. Sorry.

Funnily enough, on that subject, an older gentleman at my work who does recruitment - his birthday is today also. And he said in the applications he receives, he's always surprised to notice how many peole have that same birthday. What are the odds?

Radix knows the answer to that question. I forgot the number, but it's surprisingly low.

That's what I would have thought - but he swears that a disproportionate number of applicants have that birthday. He probably just notices them becasue it's the same date as his.

Any good ones this year?
So far today I've heard the Today programme winding up the Europhobes by claiming the British medley which used to open Radio4 each day is being replaced by a cheesy collection of Europe-inspired themes.
And UKNova have put a page about file-sharers being arrested on their front page.
The Guardian is bound to be packed with them, and they usually do them very well, so looking forward to that.

Is this one? I hope it is. If not, someone needs a beatin' with my beatin' stick.

I believe this is the Guardian's effort. It's vaguely amusing. I think I preferred the Nectar card advert on the back page, claiming you could swipe your card against your mouse or track pad when online shopping...

Oh, and Sound On Sound magazine always do something. Almost forgot about it, as the April issue comes out mid-March. I enjoyed this year's one very much.

Google's was pretty fun.

id: it's not like I've been following it, but the BBC has links from the past couple of weeks on the "copulating dogs fiasco" which made me think... hmmmm, wouldn't it be really clever if they had retrospectively added links to give the sttory (the illusion of) depth. But no, turns out a quick google brings you to plenty of other sites reporting it, so unless it's a much bigger prank than I want to think about you need to polish up your beatin' stick...

A Tory/Coldplay link is entirely believable though.

At least it was to me, until I read the story closely.

The Economist's is worth it for the opening paragraph alone...

Much as I hate to give any credit to BMW (the car of choice for all dangerous drivers) the "paint that makes your car look blurred to fool speed cameras set to catch slow drivers" was quit a good gag despit a rather tortuous premise.
