Every member sees it under his or her own name. It's there to allow you to modify your posts--to fix spelling mistakes, or delete a post entirely, et cetera.
It doesn't go away--you will always have the option to change things after the fact, within reason: your changes must be approved by one of the moderators before they go into effect.
