You guys see this yet?

And the next question is:

How can we help him? The jails don't have internet access in early 2003 and all.

Don't want to ruin anyone's fantasy trip or anything but...

"We don't believe this guy's story -- he's either a lunatic or a pathological liar," says an SEC insider.

Well, duh!

Anna, tut. Harsh! He *could* be...;-)

That's disgraceful. Time travelling is no crime. But, I'm sure that he'll be yanked out of the 21st century by his time displacement machinery before too long.

Good thing too, the 21st century is a shitty time to be in.

Yes, especially when the Shadow Spiders arrive.
...
I mean if, if the Shadow Spiders arrive. Which they won't.

psst... the spiders only arrive on Mars in the 21st... they don't get here until 2109...

I wish I'd taken more history. I'd be rich as fuck by now. But oh no, "history's not useful, you want to have a different brain implant".

That sonufabitch! I betcha next he'll lead the Borg here in retaliation!

Um, excuse me, but you non-Americans know what the Weekly World News is, don't you? It's a fictional tabloid, a bit like the Onion if it was in supermarket check-out lanes. Ahem.

Well, you're no fun.

You expect someone who lives in a suitcase to be fun?!

Come on! Don't you guys want to go rescue him? We could start a new superteam!

I take the roll of Booma the Red.

The fellow time traveler held captive by the men of Sea Horse. Shall we settle for this?

"I think not, diddo."

Then Bat-boy, Elvis and Satan. A new generation A-team with portable rockets, Sexy freak couture and a team of Munchausenesque tabloid prigs dogging our next-gen A-van.

A yes, The League Of Rather Unsual Gentlemen.

I'm so damnably gullible. I was all, "Wow, that is so awesome!" until I saw the Weekly World News link. Drat.

What a great story! I frequently find myself imagining that I have sent my mind back 10 years into my 1993 (or whatever) body. Besides the obvious thrill of knowing everyone's actions in advance I also imagine I do what this guy apparently did (in the story)...only to realize I haven't got a clue what to invest in. This guy is fortunate he did his homework before he left. Well, I hope it all works out for him in the end.

Hey... the WWN was responsible for making me a reverend. And nowhere else could I find a story on the Antichrist Detector. Scientific American my ass...

It would have been cooler if he made the money on sporting events, like in Back to the Future 2, especially if his schemes were thwarted by Michael J. Fox.

I don't know about 'cool'.

If my schemes were thwarted by Michael J. Fox, why I'd simply die of embarrassment.

I wish this was in meatspace so we could all have a good "MARTY!" "DOC!" call and response routine.

What is Odyssey Five?

Hey, there's no shame in having your schemes foiled by the Fox. he's thwarted my plans for world domination on many an occasion, and we've always had a good laugh about it afterwards.

Odyssey Five is a sci fi show on Sky One and I've not been allowed to watch it because my weekly quota was used up by Farscape... oh, the horror of living in a shared house!

Our Lady of The Two Towers

... Until they moved it to Sky poncing Mix only. As far as I can tell, Sky Mix only shows stuff that was on Sky One the night before. What seems to be the sole exception? Odyssey Five. Fuckbakes!

Yep. The flux capacitor seems to be working fine Calvinballronan. You can pop back and give me those racing tips now.

is odyssey five any good?

Our Lady of The Two Towers

Takes a while to warm up but it is really good. It's got a deeply sarcastic guy who's response to travelling back in time 5 years is to find pop stars just before they get famous and marry them, and to use a memory of American football games to make money. And it's got Robocop in it! And he swears a lot! It's ace.

Which probably means it got cancelled after one season.
