In a miraculously clever move that could only be performed by YT I am here for the week before MC & LA come herre to live.

I´ve got to tell you that this place is amazing. The whole place is gripped with Anti-War fever. The city is literally awash with grafitti and banners. Hell, even Burger King has posters in the window advertising the next march. Just round the corner where I´m staying there is a big encampment of demonstrators in the square right outside one of the main governmental buildings.

I wondered back to my Hotel about 10 last night and turned on the Newsfeed to find out what was up with the world when I heard a sound that could have been mistaken for the high festival of the Spanish Metalbeaters Convention. Naturally curiosity took me and my camera outside to investigate the sounds. I found the narrow alleys and balconies lined with people beating on pots and pans.

In the square there were about 1500 demonstrators doing the same and this went on for two hours. Most of the square got graffed up during this time and this prompted me to think that the spanish police are fantastic. They quietly stood there making sure that nobody actually tried to enter the buildings and on a couple of occasions went as far as to comment on the quality of the new paintwork.

I wish we could see this sort of stuff in London.

OK, so that´s just an wholly inappropriate joke as there are few more lovely than the fair Anna.

However, it is raining.

Last night was dancing and marching. On the scale of demonstratory cooledness the English really have a lot of catching up to do. I think we might have them beat on the clever signage but I can´t be too sure as I can´t actually read them all.

Discovered yesterday that there indeed a large number of encampments all across the city and I can't seem to find a plaça that doesn't contain a makeshift stand carrying the slogan Aturem la Guerra. Last night seemed the have a lot of discussions about "Ideologies" according to my translation of the timetable but more interestingly there was a performance by two dancers, the conclusion of which indicated that everyone watching should hug each other.

So it seems that 13:00 on a Sunday is the hour of mooning the establishment in Barcelona. So little of what I have seen go on is in any tour guide.
