I've bought a couple of their other albums and apart from fantastic stand-out tracks like 'Pure Morning' I find their stuff pretty samey. Is the new album similarly homogenous? I do like the new single.
I think it's pretty awful myself. The acid jazz undercurrent is especially unwelcome. There's a glimmer of past glories but most of it sounds like half-hearted identikit Placebo to me. Having said that, I have warmed to the single which is a cringe worthy thing to say in relation to any album.
I like the way the band try to grow
It'was my firt impression after hearing "sleeping with ghosts"! I like Placebo but i think they are in search of a new sound. It's funny like a teenager growing old...Well i'm a bit sarcastic but i really like the band. I love "Without you i'm nothing" but i don't want to hear this stuff again! I prefer their shy experiments.
And...By the way...It seems to me that they threw away rimmel lipsticks and eyeliners?
