No, really.
well, I was going into a park one foggy morning. I said out loud
"I want to come in-"
I couldn't finish saying 'but I know I can't' because, on cue, whatever I was standing on gave way to plain slick mud. I fell down sprained my foot, took a few pictures,(really breathtaking by the way, you should see them) and limped out the gate.

The thing that puzzled me was the way I fell on cue, it was as if the forest got angry and shoved me down in the mud.
This can all be chalked up to my clumsiness, of course, but it poses an interesting question.

I also have heard that a girl from a nearby high school died in the park/forest. When/why I don't know.

Tell me what you think of this, and if you have any tree spirit stories I'd love to hear about them.

OooOooh! Burn some sage, dude.

Seriously: Are there any stories relating to this park? (Apart from the one you've mentioned, that is.) I would suggest that a one-off incident isn't something to get rattled about.

Maybe spending some more time in and around parks, woodland and so forth would be good for you. We all need a healthy dose of fractal input sometimes: your intense reaction might be connected to this.

Actually, the main reason I posted this was because I wondered if anyone knew any tree spirit stories.

Most likely this was just stupidity, but since my encounter with the catalyst of change known to you as Barbelith,(I only recently found a name for this, before I had called it, lamely,'the big thing behind everything')I've learned to not dismiss anything anymore.

This may border on paranoia, but it helps prevent that awful mundane belief that coincidences are meaningless and questions should be left alone.

*phew!*

So! know any good killer tree stories?

Are you sure it was the forest/tree spirits that were responsible? Going splat into the mud sounds more like an earth thing to me... especially if it seemed like the ground shifted underfoot.

I've got no good stories, unfortunately. And the only recommendation I have is to second the thought that you spend more time in a natural setting. You might even want to be so bold as to go back to where you fell down, sit in a spot (of your own choosing!) and tell the area, "You've got my attention; now please tell me what's going on!"

You might want ot have a look at this little essay -
Finding Your Way in the Woods" - it's one of the best things I've ever read about doing magick outdoors. Actually, it's probably the only thing, but there you go.

Really chuffed to find this online - I brought it as a pamphlet a few years ago and was really impressed with it. Nice to see it available again. if you do a search for paganism in this forum, you'll bring up a thread, I started a while back which has some good ideas/perspectives in it.
