Because some of you lovely, lovely people are friends of mind whose e-mail address I don't have, I'm taking the somewhat rash step of throwing my birthday gathering plans open to Barbelith. Clare Short says it's "reckless", but she'll soon change her mind. Here's the details, shamelessly cut and pasted from the email I just sent out:
hello children,
in these dark days of war and uncertainty, it's my belief that every excuse to get rowdy and crunk should be grasped with both hands. and on Saturday 12th April, I hit the quarter-century mark (that means I'll be 25, maths kids).
as a man of simple pleasures, I'd like you peeps to join me in the Jorene Celeste pub in Kentish Town from around 4pm onwards. it's a nice, roomy pub and serves good Thai food in the evening at an affordable price. I shall be attempting to seize and secure a strategic position with a small advance team of special forces earlier in the afternoon (volunteers welcome), so arrive as and when you can.
directions: come out of Kentish Town tube station and turn left. after about 1 mins walk, the Jorene Celeste is on your left, and we'll be towards the rear. streetmap link here. that's April 12th, the fourth Saturday from today.
feel free to bring friends, lovers etc as long as they're not evil warmongers and/or Nickelback fans.
hope to see you there: non-compliance may have serious consequences. |
