And how exactly is this a Switchboard material?

I'm asking it to be moved to Convo...

This is important.

I was going to put it in "Conversation" but figured that since it's a current event, with a link to a newspaper, and pending lawsuits it might be appropriate here.

From the article:

Per Kristian Hagen is recovering from emergency surgery and taking the incident in good humour, but he's filed a police report against Mayhem even though he otherwise enjoyed their show.

"If it turns out I've got permanent injuries after this, it's important to have some sort of record to refer to," Hagen told local newspaper Bergensavisen. "I'll have to file a claim for lost income, since I can't work for awhile."

Well, well. Things have sure changed from back in the day, when yours truly used to get all sorts of things thrown her way from the stage to the moshpit (usually the lead singer)! I've had the more than occasional boot-to-the-brain, but never anything that required hospitalization.

It will be interesting to see how this develops, both legally and in terms of how/if the Black Metal scene over there will be affected.

All I can say is, all you black metal rockers out there, if you can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen. And duck.

Since the murder of Euronymous by Count Gornoischnicklewossname (Varg Vikerns, actually) didn't change anything, I can't see a sheep's head making much of an...erm...impact.

videodrome- you have filled me with an insatiable urge to go and read "Lords of Chaos- the bloody rise of the Satanic metal underground" again, as it is quite possibly the funniest book I've ever read.

I always thought Oystein Arseth had the best surname ever .

Hmmm, I'd stay inside the duck, you're safer there. The feathers will insulate you from the heat of the kitchen, and the fat will absorb some of the energy from any ballistic sheep-head attack.

Sorry, again.

YES!

This is amazing!

Yet again, Black Metal has cheered up my day..

(The last time incidentally was the other week when I was reading Terrorizer, and there was a quote from the band Marduk describing their new record as "the same unholy cosmic terror, but this time with more of a groove to it".)

Satan (or Odin or Cthulhu or whoever) bless 'em.
