huh...I just reread my dream journal entry and realized there was also a whole "ficsuit" angle to the thing, where I was telling the other three escapees (this total oddball crew: a fat, unshaven guy who I thought had a speech disorder cuz I couldn't understand the words he was using, just his meaning, and he was sorta sinister, like I thought he had been arrested for assaulting women; a little nervous guy with a moustache who had been arrested for refusing to pull over for a cop; and a young woman, cute and cynical, who was some kind of computer thief, told me she had stolen $52000 but didn't want to miss her $350 concert tickets...I found her incredibly attractive) that we had to set up multiple alternate identities and "we should be careful to make at least one close enough to ourselves to pass casual screening"...and in the margin of my journal beside it I wrote "Kirk Morrison/ Gideon Stargrave".
Later in the dream, when we had returned to break out the other inmates, I was trying to bluff my way past this surgeon in the hospital lobby (who was smoking a joint cuz it was graveyeard shift...that was the smell component of the dream, and I have scented dreams so infrequently it was definitely notable) I identified myself as "Dr. Huxley Grey" which really is one of my ficsuit personae...
Another drug connexxion: at one point, when we found three teleportation "loci" at the end of a dead-end gravel road, they were marked "London", "Rome", "Las Vegas", and the girl changed the sign that said "Rome" to one that said "Amsterdam" to throw them off our trail. When she wrote "Amsterdam" she did it in this weird vertical script, where all the letters were outgrowths of a vertical line, which now occurs to me as being suspiciously like a sigil...
Wow...well, this just upgraded to "synchronicity" for me.
[cue theremin please]
Funny thing is, and this may be tantamount to heresy here, I'm not even a big Invisibles reader. Only read handful of issues, though I've been interested in buying the trades for quite a while, so it isn't as though it plays some huge role in my psychic landscape. |
