Wow, can't believe I haven't mentioned Cannibal Corpse yet. Not so much for the name but (if I'm allowed a minor technical thread digression) for some of their craxy out-there song titles. Here's a selection, and I haven't made these up.

I was gonna start a pretentious noisey indie type band once that was gonna be called Three Random Words, there was a noise band that I was gonna start called Death to The False Ones (we were gonna claim to do a noise cover of the White Album, with random Beatles lyrics thrown in, mostly from songs that weren't on the White Album) and I also had a short lived Jesus Lizard influenced stoner metal band called On Fire, which was great because of the hilarity that would ensue from this scene:
Guy Just Arriving to On Fire Show: Hey, who are these guys?
Person Already there: They're On Fire.
GJATOFS: I know, but who are they?

I printed this whole thread out and read it on the bus home this morning and almost had to bite my tongue so people wouldn't think (realise?) I was weird for laughing out loud at a piece of paper.

Therefore, I thought I'd resurrect it so new people can see it and hey, who knows, maybe make a contribution of their jolly own.

Well...my friend Bill plays in a band named Touchy Feely, which is brilliant, and I've been on and off in a band named The Fascist Swedes as a joke off of The Hives for a while. Those are definately my favorite band names...though Big D and the Kids Table, and Melt Banana are close seconds.

Aw snap! I can't forget Johnny Payphones and the T-Watts ...we pranked called this group of really annoying "gangsta" suburbanites outside a movie theater payphone by continually calling it, until finally one of the kids called us a "t - watt". Absolutely incredible story.

i was always planning on calling myself 'jonny jihad' when i was the singer in a band. i never made it past bass playing back-up singer.

there was a bit of an idea for some more punk rock style renaming, including calling my mate geoff 'MegageF'.

if you steal that, he will kill you. he's mental.
