Resonance FM

This is genius. Resonance FM (www.resonancefm.com) has been broadcasting to London on 104.4 FM for almost a year now (there's also an audio stream on the website). It's a non-profit, ad-free 'art' station, broadcasting live from noon til 1am (with looped archives the rest of the time) - everything from documentaries to experimental music, sound art, random acts of genius...

Has anyone else on the Barb been listening? If not I highly, highly recommend you tune in. I've been listening for a few months and it's got to the point where I just leave it on 24/7...

I've been listening for a few weeks now, on the recomendation of a friend. Some hit and miss stuff (at it's worst when it slips into shouty aren't I odd but funny student radio territory), but a great radio station - particularly the Monday late night Solid Steel mix and that they were running the Shadow serial recently (Orson Welles stuff).

It's ace but hard work sometimes. Yesterday evening for instance, there was a guy playing an edited tribute to Bob Dylan that featured of the applause from all of his live discs. Just the applause. Edited together. For 25 mintues. Now, yes, it's interesting, and yes, I am so glad that their is a radio station that will play that out there but, at times, I must ask myself do I really want to listen to 25 minutes of Bob Dylan fans clapping? Yesterday, the answer came back "no".

Actually, that's too hard on Resonance, it's not always like that. I probably could've got with the clapping in the end, but I had it on at earsplitting volume as I was sorting out the flat.
