I've heard rumours on the radio in Toronto that the Stone Roses are getting back together. Could anyone please connect the dots and let me know what else is running through the rumour mill about this band?

Yeah I've heard this too - there was a rumour that they were going to reform for one of the festivals this year but that's been shot down. Next year I hear they're getting back together.

I do like the Stone Roses, was a bit late though started getting into them during my weed stage of youth - what a cliché'

Eugrrgh, I hate it when bands decided to reunite, so very very wrong. So wrong.

don't know how relevant this is, but when my mate went back stage to the ian brown gig in belfast late last year this topic was brought up as they briefly talked and ian said it would never happen but then who knows?

I can't see it happening and if it does, I won't be all that interested. Brown's made some kind of name for himself in dubby lo-fi electrindie, Mountfield's bass antics with primal Sceam have given him back some of the fame that he briefly found through Fool's Gold. Reni's reportedly a happy family man. The only one with anything to gain is Squire, what with the disastrous Seahorses and solo rubbish, and he's shown absolutely no interest in writing or recording anything other than dull, dull, dull Brit indie dirges - a world away from Brown and Mountfield.

Quite apart from all that, I can't see any way in which The Stone Roses could be relevant any more.

Unless session musos are back in fashion, that is. Bip obviously knows what I'm talking about.

Apparently, Ian Brown will have a small role in the next Harry Potter movie. I'm not making this up.
